As a child, I was far too impatient to put them to paper and so they lingered within my mind for years. When I decided I really wanted to put in the effort I began by writing short stories and flash fiction to not only improve on my skills, but to finally get those stories out of my head.I learned a lot writing these, not only about what kind of storyteller I would be, but how I felt inside about many different topics. Within these stories, you will see different examples of normal people put in and dealing with situations that mirror everyday life. You will notice names and even some plot devices from my novels within these stories. These helped focus me towards my novels and still impact me even today.Stories include:Imprint: After a chance encounter with a stranger on the road, a young woman begins to have dreams and memories that are not her own. Will to Live: A man struggles to continue on with life after his wife is killed in an accident he blames himself for.Round-a-bout: A young boy heads home only to find his family is gone and nobody seems to remember them or him.Ten Moments: A recounting of the last moments of a man’s life.Final Escape: A women flees a home of pain and torment in the dead of winter. In Service: A struggle between love and duties weighs heavily on religious man’s mind.In addition, a number of other short stories and flash fiction.
